H Mart Opening Two Stores in Irvine

H Mart joins Sprouts, Gelson’s, Ralphs, Trader Joe’s, Smart & Final Extra!, Grocery Outlet and Target to service North Irvine grocery needs

H Mart, a best-in-class international grocery chain with more than 100 stores in 14 states, will open two stores at Irvine Company properties in Irvine. The Albertsons stores at Westpark Plaza and Northpark Plaza have elected not to renew their leases, and plans call for the two new H Mart stores to open in late 2021. H Mart, which began as a Korean grocery market nearly 40 years ago, has evolved to become a unique international supermarket chain, offering communities an extensive selection of traditional Asian, international, and everyday essential food items.

H Mart joins a wide variety of high-quality grocery shopping options in North Irvine. Within two miles of Westpark Plaza and Northpark Plaza, there are 10 other grocery stores representing a variety of options including Sprouts Farmers Market (2), Gelson’s Market, Target (2), Ralphs (2), Grocery Outlet, Pavilions, Trader Joe’s and Smart & Final Extra!.

In addition, H Mart brings even more food choices for Irvine’s diverse ‘foodie’ community. It joins 99 Ranch Market, Zion Market, Namaste Plaza Indian Supermarket and Wholesome Choice in bringing international offerings paired with more traditional grocery choices. Between these five stores, Irvine residents can find prepared food and ingredients from Europe, the Middle East, Russia, South Africa, India, Mexico, Southeast Asia and Japan.

All of Irvine Company’s open-air neighborhood shopping centers are designed to attract a vibrant and diverse array of stores and restaurants for residents to enjoy.
